“Search Engine Optimization Traffic Endeavors”

Week 12

Beep! Beep!

Today let’s chat about traffic… no, I do mean the road but SEO or in other words Search Engine Optimization.

SEO is defined as the art and science of getting website pages to rank higher in your search engines. These pages include more than just Google. By ranking higher in a search engine your content is discovered or found with ease. This means your website is more visible to internet searchers. In other words the more traffic, the more opportunities a business has to convert potential prospects into customers.

Since SEO has multiple elements, knowing how each works and what they are, will tremendously increase your understanding on Search Engine Optimization as a business.

One who has this type of career is responsible for being a gatekeeper and supporting content ideas that can add value to search engines and their users. As a SEO, one’s most valuable skills or tasks are the following

  • Finding content gaps
  • Perform extensive search for keyword research
  • Implementing content recommendations for organic SEO success
  • Regularly monitor and analyze their results
  • Learn Google Analytics and Google Search Console for better knowledge

just to name a few.

When using these skills, one must come up with a well-rounded organic search strategy. By doing so SEO’s can help uncover areas of opportunity and possible weaknesses. Missing any of these could potentially prevent a company from ranking higher or earning visibility. When executing your optimization plans, be wary of the three types of SEO tools which are

  • On-page SEO
  • Technical SEO
  • Off-page SEO

it’s time to headout and check out the traffic.
